BYU-Hawaii is a small university emphasizing in liberal arts and has professional programs in business and education. It also has a special institute for Polynesian Studies funded in part by neighboring Polynesian Cultural Center. The center helps students in many ways, providing work and valuable learning opportunities because of its building relationship with BYU-Hawai'i. The Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredit BYU-Hawai'i. The enrollment is capped at 2,000 full time students with almost half being international from 60 different countries. In addition to its academic program with thirty different majors it has a successful sports program in tennis, volleyball and rugby.
